How KundliLive calculates a Kundli

This page explains how birth details move through deterministic astronomical calculations into charts, Dasha and rule-based astrological analysis.

Deterministic calculationThe same inputs produce the same chart output
Corrected astronomyThe corrected production engine is the calculation source
Evidence-based interpretationInterpretation is based on calculated facts
Step by step

Main calculation stages

  1. 01

    Birth date, time and place

The calculation begins with the entered birth date, local time and selected place. Accurate data is especially important when the Ascendant, Rashi or Nakshatra is close to a boundary.

  2. 02

    Timezone and coordinates

The selected place supplies latitude, longitude and an IANA timezone. Local birth time is converted into the correct astronomical instant and used in location-dependent calculations.

  3. 03

    Sidereal / Vedic approach

KundliLive uses the sidereal zodiac for Vedic astrology. A tropical longitude is not treated directly as a Rashi; it is converted into the selected sidereal frame.

  4. 04

    Lahiri Ayanamsha

The production calculation uses a calibrated Lahiri ayanamsha profile. This provides the angular offset between the tropical and sidereal zodiacs.

  5. 05

    Planetary positions

Corrected sidereal longitudes are calculated for the Sun, Moon and classical planets. Frame handling, nutation and required aberration corrections are controlled in the production engine; Rahu and Ketu follow the mean-node policy.

  6. 06

    Ascendant / Lagna

The point rising on the eastern horizon is calculated from the birth instant, location, sidereal time and obliquity. The Ascendant can be highly sensitive to time and place.

  7. 07

    D1 birth chart

D1 is the main Rashi chart. KundliLive uses whole-sign houses: the Ascendant sign is the first house and the following signs become the next houses in sequence.

  8. 08

    D9 Navamsa

Each 30-degree sign is divided into nine Navamsa portions to derive D9 positions. It is presented as a supporting divisional chart alongside D1.

  9. 09

    Nakshatra and Pada

Sidereal longitude is mapped into 27 Nakshatras and four Padas within each Nakshatra. The corrected Moon longitude feeds the birth Nakshatra and Vimshottari timeline.

  10. 10

    Vimshottari Dasha

The Moon’s Nakshatra and its progress through that Nakshatra determine the birth Dasha and remaining balance. This becomes the basis of the Mahadasha and Antardasha timeline.

  11. 11

    Yoga / Dosha analysis

Deterministic PHP rules are applied to planets, signs, houses and their relationships. Yogas, doshas, strength context and available remedies are shown only from chart facts produced by the engine.

  12. 12

    Interpretation process

The calculation layer first produces structured evidence. The presenter and interpretation layer turn that evidence into readable Hindi or English Faladesh without guessing planetary positions or yogas.

Accuracy and limitations

Near a Rashi, house, Nakshatra or Navamsa boundary, a difference of a few birth-time minutes can change the result. Use a recorded time and the correct place whenever possible. Astrological interpretation is traditional guidance, not medical, legal or financial advice.
